As Lead Product Designer, I owned end-to-end product design for the WAX Cloud Wallet redesign, a multi-surface dApp serving millions of users in the WAX blockchain ecosystem. I defined product direction, drove UX strategy across desktop and mobile, and led the integration of platform-level capabilities: NFT bridge, cross-chain transfers, and on-chain staking. The mandate was scalability: a system that could grow with the ecosystem, not against it.

Rapid ecosystem growth exposed a structural platform problem: automated bots were exhausting Network Resources, CPU, NET, and RAM, and degrading real user experience at scale. The design challenge required a systemic response: protect the platform without introducing onboarding friction that would drive away legitimate users.
I led the design of a pay-wall system that verified users and converted payments into wallet credit, protecting resources while keeping the legitimate onboarding flow intact. It took product, engineering and security in the same room to validate the interaction model and confirm technical constraints before finalizing the design approach.
I made the architectural decision to build a dedicated mobile experience rather than adapt the desktop. This unlocked mobile-specific interaction patterns, eliminated forced desktop compromises, and gave the team a clear product surface to own and iterate independently.
Light and dark themes came off one token layer, a single component architecture with switchable visual modes. Any new component inherits both themes automatically, reducing design and engineering overhead across the full product surface.
Impact: The redesign took the WAX Cloud Wallet from a fragmented utility to a coherent product. One token layer carried the rollout across desktop and mobile. The pay-wall resolved the bot problem at the design layer without degrading onboarding. The dedicated mobile surface gave the wallet a first-class phone experience instead of a scaled-down desktop one.
